A Little About This Sabbat

This Sabbat is celebrated in honour of the rebirth of the sun. It is the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

It brings hope and renewal as the sun begins to return. The promise of new beginnings on the horizon.

It's a time for quiet introspection and relaxation. During the long winter nights around the solstice we are invited to turn inward and reflect on the year as it draws to an end. Take time to pause and nurture yourself.

In pagan myth and folklore, the Oak King wins in battle agaisnt the Holly King. The Oak King rules from the Winter Solstice to the Summer Solstice. The Summer Solstice is when the Holly King defeats the Oak King and rules from the Summer Solstice to the Winter Solstice.
