Faerie approved vegan shortbread flower cookies! I made these Faerie Shortbread Flower Cookies for Beltane using forget-me-nots, dianthus and pear blossoms growing in my garden. Be sure to leave a cookie or two and a little bit of milk outside in your garden as an offering to the Fae. Ingredients 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 3/4 cups powdered sugar 1 1/4 cups softened vegan butter 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Any of the following edible flowers: primrose, pansies, forget-me-nots, blackthorn blossoms, apple blossoms, pear blossoms, clover, dandelions, lilacs, dianthus, wild rose, violets. Makes about 24 cookies. Directions 1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees celsius and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. In a large bowl stir the flour and powdered sugar together. Then add the softened butter and vanilla and mix until well combined. The dough will look crumbly and soft but should hold together when squeezed in your hands. 3. A review of "Wheel of the Year: Living the Magical Life" by Pauline Campanelli. This book was written by Pauline Campanelli and illustrated by her husband Dan Campanelli. Published by Llewellyn Publications in 1989. Pauline and Dan are both Wiccan and have been practising since 1968. Pauline has authored other books such as "Ancient Ways", "Circles, Groves, & Sanctuaries", and "Pagan Rites of Passage". She has also published articles for various occult magazines. Pauline and Dan are both professional fine artists and were even featured in a PBS special about their lifestyle and artwork. I had no luck in finding the PBS special, I hope it hasn't been lost in time. This book takes you through the wheel of the year, month-by-month. It gives various information and ideas for rituals, magickal crafting, spellwork, and celebrating the Sabbats. The information in this book is very informative and the ideas are original. It’s used for psychic development, opening the third eye chakra, as an aphrodisiac, and encouraging lucid dreams. This is perfect to drink before bed. This cacao and blue lotus moon milk has a relaxing and calming effect, allowing for a deep and restful sleep. Make this moon milk on an evening when you can see the moon in the night sky, a full moon in a water sign would be ideal.
